'Watch 1000 surrendered Jehadis in armed forces'

New Delhi, Jul 28: BJP MP Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi today said that the three Army jawans arrested in Jammu and Kashmir for alleged links with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba were among the 1000 ''so-called surrendered militants'' inducted in the army and urged the government to keep an eye on their activities.

Taking exception to the ''nonchalant'' attitude of the government towards the activities of ''potential troublemakers'' within the armed and security forces, Mr Chaturvedi said, during Zero Hour, that notwithstanding the denials of Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee to the Parliament, three jawans of J&K Light Infantry were arrested and all three happened to be surrendered Jehadis.

''About 1000 of these elements had been absorbed in the defence forces and are were reports that they were attempting to spread the decay in the system, spoiling the good people and spreading disaffection within the forces,'' he said, adding it was ''important to keep tab on the activities of these elements.''
