Srinagar, July 28 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government will order an inquiry into the grenade attack on a National Conference (NC) rally in which a former legislator and three others were killed.

This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig in the Legislative Assembly when members cutting across party lines expressed serious concern about security of the politicians in the state.

Sharing the concern exprerssed by the members in the House on the opening day of the six-day session, Mr Baig said he will request Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to convene a meeting of leaders of all political parties to address the security concerns of the members and their politcal workers.

Mr Azad was away in Leh to receive President A P J Abdul Kalam who arrived here this afternoon.

Earlier, the House paid tributes to former legislators Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Ghulam Nabi Dar and also demanded a thorough probe into the grenade attack during the NC rally in which Mr Dar was killed.

Mr Baig said the inquiry committee would be set up soon and will be required to submit its report within two to three months.
