IT Raid in biggest manufacturers of chemical factory

Surat, July 28 (UNI) Investigating officers of the Income Tax department have unearthed cash and jewellery to the tune of Rs 60 lakh in a raid conducted on 40 premises of a chemical company group, one of the biggest manufacturers of chemicals and dyes in the country, IT officials said here today.

The search operation at the various offices and premises of the chemical company began on Wednesday and the large team of around 250 investigating officials unearthed several documents and incriminating evidences that reveal the unaccounted transactions of the company.

''The volume of the unaccounted transactions can be ascertained only after a thorough examinations of the seized documents'', a senior IT official said.
