IJU elects its president and secretary general

Patna, Jul 28 (UNI) Akhouri Suresh Prasad was today elected as President and K Sreenivas Reddy as Secretary General of the Indian Journalist Association for the fifth consecutive term.

IJU Central Returning Officer Gauri Shankar Acharya said here that both were elected unopposed in their respective posts.

Mr Prasad was member of the Delhi Union of Journalists while Mr Reddy a member of Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (AUWJ).

Another member of the AUWJ M S Hashmi had also filed his nominations for the post of Secretary General but during scrutiny his nomination papers were found misfit and was rejected finally, informed Mr Acharya.
