Ganga touches danger mark in Hardwar
Dehra Dun, July 28 (UNI) The Ganga was flowing near the danger mark in Hardwar and Rishikesh due to incessant rains in Uttaranchal.
According to a report from Central Water Commission Himalayan Ganga Circle, this morning water level in the river at Haridwar was recorded at 292.60 metre, just 1.40 metre below danger level.
Similarly, water level at Rishikesh was recorded at 338.56 metre just 1.44 metre below danger mark.
The level is continously on the rise, the report said.
Meanwhile, 6.2 mm and 42.1 mm rainfall was recorded at Hardwar and Rishikesh respectively. Uttarkashi received 39 mm rain while Dehra Dun received 16.8 mm. However, water level in the Bhagirathi, Alaknanda, Pinder, Mandakini and Nayar has receded.
