Former CEC's kin joins Cong

Lucknow, July 28 (UNI) Annu Tandon, a social worker and niece of former Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon, today joined Congress.

Uttar Pradesh Congress president Salman Khurshid said here, the party was continuously looking for people from various sections of society, who could help the common man.

''We waited for retirement of Mr Tandon...it was only after that she joined Congress,'' he said.

Ms Tandon, an exporter of garments and fabrics, is also involved in social work in the Unnao district of UP.

She is also heading two charitable trusts based in Unnao. Her trusts work towards providing proving education to children, helping people with eye disorders and garbage disposal.

Ms Tandon is also involved with Delhi-based think-tank Observer Research Foundation.
