Delhi celebrates Teej
New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) Teej, a festival savouring the flavour of monsoon, was celebrated with musical programmes, mehndi, bangles and swings for women, kite-flying by men and exchanging sweetmeat 'Ghewar' at various functions across the city.
The main function was held at Delhi Haat in Central Delhi, where Teej Festival 2006 was held jointly by Delhi and Rajasthan tourism.
Stalls of traditional dresses, ornaments, art and cuisines were especially set up while cultural events showcased folk dance and music.
The fest would continue till July 30.
Teej festival was also organised by Delhi Study Group at the official residence of former union minister and BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad to mark the occasion.
After more than two days of intermittent rain, the weather too held up nicely and the trees and bushes shining green after the rains.
