CM appreciated the efforts of SAAP

Hyderabad, July 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to concentrate on pending as well as ongoing projects and also to ensure release of pending payments from the UNion Governemnt.

Reviewing the activities of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) today, Dr reddy directed the officials to strengthen the quality of the training and utilise the services of the best coaches available for the training facilities in the academies.

While appreciating the efforts of SAAP in conducting the National and International Tournaments, the Chief Minister accorded permission for conducting the Chief Minister's Cup in September and also approved the official logo and mascot 'Bheema'.

SAAP officials informed the Chief Minister that the Regional Sports School at Kadapa would function from August this year. The existing 27 academies had produced 291 gold medalists, 187 silver medalists and 125 bronze medalists so far. The budget earmaked towards academies was Rs 3.65 crore.
