Christian Forum demands change in MP Cong leadership
Bhopal, July 28 (UNI) Annoyed at the passage of the Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill without debate in the assembly, the Madhya Pradesh Christian Forum (MPCF) has written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi demanding a change in the party's state leadership.
In a statement here, MPCF chairperson Indira Iyengar made an indirect reference to Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi and state Congress president Subhash Yadav and said the opposition failed to play its role.
She demanded that a person with a clean image be given the leadership.
Ms Iyengar said the Congress failed to put the government in the dock over deteriorating law and order situation and communal disharmony in the state.
She added that if leadership change was not effected, the BJP would succeed in implementing its agenda and it would weaken the public base of the Congress.
