CBI chargesheets Haryana cadre IAS officer

New Delhi, JulY 28 (UNI) The CBI today chargesheeted senior Haryana cadre IAS officer Sandeep Garg on corruption charges.

The chargesheet was filed in the court of Special Judge I K Kochhar, an agency spokesman said.

The CBI also chargesheeted the father, brother, a businessman, and two friends of the IAS officer, the spokesman said.

The agency had registered a case against Garg in April, 2003, for possession of assets disprportionate to known sources of income when he was posted as Regional Director (North) Anti- Adulteration Cell, Petroleum Ministry, in Delhi.

The CBI said the officer had acquired assets worth Rs 3.61 crore between January 1999 and April 2004.
