BHEL Q1 net jumps 85 pc to Rs 237 crore
Mumbai, July 28 (UNI) The state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has posted a net profit of Rs 236.67 crore for the quarter ended June 30 this year as compared to Rs 127.87 crore for the similar quarter in the year-ago period, a rise of 85.08 per cent.
Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 2,776.42 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, from Rs 2,029.66 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.
Meanwhile, the company's board of directors, at its meeting held today, has deferred agenda item relating to the issue of bonus shares and sub-division of equity shares of the company for consideration at its adjourned meeting to be held on August eight.
