AFC to probe incident in North Korea v China match
SYDNEY, July 28 (Reuters) The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is investigating a clash between North Korean players and match officials during a women's Asian Cup semi-final in Adelaide.
An AFC representative told Reuters that officials were meeting today to review an incident in North Korea's 1-0 loss to China yesterday.
According to local media reports, several North Korean players remonstrated with the referee after a late goal was disallowed for offside.
One player was given a red card after the final whistle and security guards were needed to escort the referee from the pitch.
China's 1-0 victory saw them advance to the final against the host-nation Australia, who had earlier beaten Japan 2-0.
