235 refugees arrive in refugee camp from Rameswaram

Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu July 28 (UNI) About 235 refugees from Sri Lanka arrived here from the refugees camp at Rameswaram Mandapam in Tamil Nadu by road transport.

Official sources said the refugees hailing from Trincomolee in Sri Lanka, claimed that they are related to the 700 refugees accommodated at Kavankarai refugee camp in Puzhal Town Panchayat, near here.

The District Collector Ranveer Prasad had instructed the officials concerned to accommodate the refugees in the camp and to ensure that they were provided with thatched sheds and other essential amenities like drinking water, the sources added.
