13 bus passengers injured

Kozhikode, Jul 28 (UNI) Thirteen bus passengers suffered burns when hydraulic acid carried by a co-passenger accidently fell on them at Balussery in the district today.

The incident took place when T V Aalikkoya, an AIR employee, who was carrying the acid in the bus heading to Kakkayam from here threw the bottle containing the acid which splashed on others, including himself, police said.

Inquiries revealed that Aalikkoya was carrying the acid for cleaning toilets, police said.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

A FIR was registered with the Balussery police station in this connection, police added.
