World Cultural Forum Alliance inks agreement with ICCR
New Delhi, July 27(UNI) The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) today signed an agreement with World Culture Forum Alliance to host the 3rd Global meet of World Cultural Forum here in 2008.
"We are very happy to chosen India, a country of immense cultural diversity and variety, as the host for the next WCF," Dr Franz Patay, WCFA chairperson, said after inking the agreement with ICCR Director General Pavan K Verma.
The earlier two global meets were held in Brazil in Jordan.
The WCFA aims at bringing together three vital sectors of the society--non-profit organisations, the government, corporate entities and the general audience in a world witnessing "a dramatic erosion of cultural memory and decline of cultural diversity".
Dr Patay said,"Through the WCF 2008 in New Delhi, we assure to commit ourselves to strengthening the voice of culture in the process of globalisation and to help preserve cultural diversity." UNI XC NK PM2015
