'Wake up to the lurking dangers to security' : BJP

New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) Expressing the party's anguish over the ''casual attitude'' of the government towards the complaints of Bangladesh illegally occupying Indian territory, the BJP today said it would take a decision on what should be done to make the government alive to imminent dangers stalking the nation.

BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that his party was ''aghast'' at the response of Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee seeking a notice from Bangladesh, which was occupying two km of land inside Indian territory.

''The Government should have at least taken note of the statement of the Bangladesh Minister on the issue and clarified instead of sounding officious by asking for a proper notice,'' he told mediapersons at a press conference in Parliament house premises.

''It was this attitude that had cost India dearly and terrorist organisations were infiltrating military, para-military and government posts,'' he said, citing the recent arrests of Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives from within the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment of the Indian Army.

Mr Malhotra said that his party would decide its future course on the issue, recalling the walk-out the party staged in the Lok Sabha.

Asked why he was seeking action against Mr Mukherjee while during the NDA regime, Pakistan had occupied Kargil heights in Indian territory, Mr Malhotra retorted that the NDA got every inch of these territories vacated and it never sought ''lame excuses'' for the same in Parliament.

Assailing the stand of the Left Parties, he said they were more worried about the crisis in Lebanon than the Mumbai blasts.

He said the BJP extended its support to the protests organised by the 'Shiksha Vichar Andholan' against the ''denigration'' of Hindu Gods and Godesses through the ''poisoned pens and perverted minds'' of Leftist historians in the texts produced for Indira Gandhi National Open University, which portray Shiva as a ''rapist'', Parvati as a ''drunkard'' and Krishna a ''cheat'' (dhoorth).

Mr Malhotra avoided all questions relating to the 'mole' in the PMO passing nuclear information to the United States by saying that Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh had stated all that need to be told about his latest book 'Call to Honour'.

''I don't agree with Ram Jethmalani that Mr Singh committed a crime by not telling the government of the about the leak even when he was in power. There is no need to go to the police because the 'mole' did not pass on any 'technical information' to the US,'' he said.
