VPT resets record in bauxite ore discharge

Visakhapatnam, July 27 (UNI) Rewriting the record in less than a week, 15,032 tonne of bauxite ore, in bulk, was discharged from merchant vessel M V Jag Vidya' at EQ-7 berth, Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT), today.

VPT spokespersons here said, the discharge surpassed the previous record of 10113 tonnes from merchant vessel M V Ispat Star on July 22.

The cargo was imported by Vedanta Alumina Ltd, Kalahandi, in Orissa.
