Sr journalist appointed as Information Commissioner

Lucknow, July 27 (UNI) Senior journalist Gyanendra Sharma has been appointed Uttar Pradesh Information Commissioner.

Official sources today said a notification to this effect had already been issued.

Mr Sharma has worked in news agencies and several prominent newspapers.

Under the Right To Information Act, the state government has to appoint one Chief Information Commissioner and a maximum of 10 information commissioners.
