Shri Buddha Amarnath yatra to commence tomorrow
Jammu, July 27 (UNI) A batch of 1200 pilgrims will depart from here for the border district of Poonch to take part in the Shri Buddha Amarnath yatra which commences tomorrow.
Around thousand yatris performed ''havan'' and ''purnahuti'' conducted by scholar Pt Dharam Paul Shashtri at Ved mandir complesx this morning.
State VHP president Rama Kant Dubey said the first batch of yatris will depart tomorrow morning at 0600 hrs and reach Poonch the same day. They yatris will be accommodated at various places, he added.
The ''chhari mubarak'' will be taken out from Dashnami Akhara Poonch, on August 7, 2006, for onward journey to Rajpura mandi.
The district development commissioner had already directed the concerned departments to make necessary arrangements for drinking water, un-interrupted electric supply, transportation of yatris, security, sanitation and health care facilities.
The management of Shri Buddha Amarnath will arrange langars for the devotees at Poonch.
