Seven feared dead in mine cave in

Asansol, Jul 27 (UNI) At least seven people were feared killed when a portion of land caved in at Sangramgarh colliery in Samdi near here today.

Official sources said the victims were trapped inside an abandoned mine of Eastern Coalfield Ltd.

Sources said the victims were engaged in illegal mining.

The subsidence took place covering an area of 1000 square feet and all the people in the nearby area were asked to vacate the area as there could be further subsidence.

Block Development Officer Sankho Santra rushed to the site and informed that necessary steps were being taken to rescue the trapped people.
