Sensex opens 54 points in the green
Mumbai, July 27: The BSE sensitive index today opened 54 points in the green on account of strong global rally.
The sensex opened at 10,671.77 compared to the previous close of 10,617.27 points and is currently trading at 10,671.45 points.
The Asian stocks today edged higher for the second day in a row.
Key benchmark indices in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore were up by between 0.8 - 2.1 per cent..
All the sectoral indices except the Banking sector were in the green.
Banking is down by 0.07 per cent, whereas the Capital Goods leads the green pack by 1.99 per cent.
Major losers are Reliance Communications, Ranbaxy, Gujarat Ambuja cement, ICICI and SBI, all down between 0.34 to 1.15 per cent.
The gainers are Dr Reddys's lab, ONGC, BHEL, NTPC, Maruti, Wipro and Grasim Industries all up between 2.37 to 2.92 per cent.
