Security beefed up at 'Shravan Jhula Mela'
Ayodhya, July 27 (UNI) Security has been beefed up for the famous 'Shravan Jhula Mela' starting here tomorrow.
A large number of pilgrims throng the 15-day mela with religious fervour and gaiety, which ends August 9.
People offer special prayers to Lord Ram and Sita.
Police Superintendent Amod Kumar today said the Mela area had been divided in 30 sectors for security, while for controlling traffic, six zones had been identified.
Every sector would be headed by a zonal magistrate. Watch-towers and Close Circuit Television (CCTV) have been placed at Kuccha Ghat, Pukka Ghat, Laxman Ghat and Bandha square, he informed.
Lost-and-found centres have been set-up at several places.
All preparations regarding proper roads, drinking water, foodgrain supply, medical facilities and power supply have been completed.
Meanwhile, checking was on at railway station, hotels and other public places to prevent any untoward incident.
