Rs 20 crore Rajiv Gandhi stadium to be built in Mizoram

Aizawl, Jul 27: The Mizoram government has chalked out a blue-print to construct a multi-tech stadium, at a cost of Rs 20 crore, here in the memory of late Rajiv Gandhi.

This was stated during a co-ordination committee meeting today on improvement of Assam Rifles, headed by Chief Minister Zoramthanga.

He said the Centre has already sanctioned Rs 6.25 crore during this fiscal to start the initial work of the stadium.

State Public Works Department (PWD) has been entrusted with the construction of the stadium which would be at par with the international standards.

Zoramthanga said UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi already haad accepted his invitation for inagurating the stadium.
