Rainfall continues to lash southeastern MP
Bhopal, July 27 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon has been active over Madhya Pradesh with heavy rain lashing several parts, while other parts received light rainfall.
The state received 22 per cent less rainfall than average with 311.5 mm rainfall occurring against average 400.7 mm from June 1 to July 26.
Shivpuri recorded lowest rainfall at 187 mm against normal 325.7 mm during this period, while Dindori received 247 mm rainfall against 557 mm average rainfall.
Meteorological department spokesperson said predicted good rainfall in coming days courtesy a low pressure area built near Jharkhand and an upper air cycer over western Uttar Pradesh.
As per the forecast, rain would occur in several parts in southeastern MP and at some places in northwestern MP during next 24 hours.
Sagar reported a heavy rainfall of 10 cm. The other chief amounts of rainfall are Lanji (7 cm), Baihar (6), Varseoni (6), Balaghat (5), Khajuraho (4) and Katangi (4).
