President Kalam to visit Kashmir tomorrow
Srinagar, July 27 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam is arriving here tomorrow on a two-day visit to Kashmir valley and Ladakh region.
Dr Kalam, during his visit, will address a joint session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislature at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention complex on the bank of famed Dal Lake in the afternoon.
The joint session could not be held in the legislative complex since the hall could not accommodate all members from the Legislative council and Assembly, an official said.
Dr Kalam will become the second President to address the joint session here after Neelam Sajeeva Reddy.
He will also attend a function to mark the diamond jubille celebrations of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on July 29.
At Leh, Dr Kalam is scheduled to attend a function and address the audience in the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and Degree college.
Dr Kalam has visited all the three region--Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh--in June 2003.
He also visited the border areas of the state following the Octrober 8 devastating earthquake last year.
