PM to head Jallianwala Bagh Trust and Memorial

New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the amendment of the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Act 1951.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons after a meeting of the Cabinet that the bill woudl be introduced in the current session of the Parliament He said the amendment bill seeks to reorganise the Jallianwala Bagh Trust and memorial with the Prime Minister as its chairperson and the Congress President and the Leader of Opposition and three ministers from the Union Cabinet, the Union Minister of Culture and the Governor of Punjab and the Chief Minister of the State as members.
