Pirated CDs worth Rs ten lakh seized in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, July 27 (UNI) The city police today seized pirated Compact Discs (CDs) of some Hindi and English movies during a raid carried out on seven CD shops in various localities here.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sudhir Dabhade told reporters that acting on a tip-off, the police team led by Police Inspector James Ambildhage carried out raids on the shops in the various localities such as Shahaganj, Mondha, Citichowk and Jinsi and seized about 60,000 CDs valued at Rs ten lakh.

The police also arrested seven people connection with the seizure, Mr Dabhade said.

According to ACP, the police were investigating the source of the CDs, since all these CDs were pirated and the accused have reportedly confessed that they have brought the material from neighbouring district towns Jalna, Dhule, Ahmednagar and Pachora in Jalgaon district.
