Pirated CDs worth Rs 40 lakh seized in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, July 27: In a major haul, pirated CDs of recent Bollywood, Hollywood and porn movies worth at least Rs 40 lakh, were seized during a raid in Khadia area last evening.

This could be the biggest seizure of pirated CDs in Gujarat till date, police said.

One person, Devang, was arrested while his brother and the prime accused in the case, Lalit Patel, is still absconding.

The raids were conducted by the CID (crime) and the Khadia police at Lalit's two houses in Bangla ni pol area in Khadia.

Thousands of CDs and DVDs of Hollywood, Bollywood and porn movies and audio CDs and MP3 of devotional songs and western music were seized, said police inspector P R Gehlot.

''We had received a tip-off about Lalit's activities. He has been doing this for the past four years. We are on his look out now,'' he said.
