Passenger aircraft suffers bird hit, tragedy averted

Indore, July 27 (UNI) A major tragedy was averted today when a Mumbai-Indore Jet Airways plane landed safely at the local airport despite suffering a bird hit.

City-based Devi Ahilya Airport's Director R K Singh said the bird hit occurred when the aircraft was about to land at the runway.

The return flight scheduled to depart at 0800 hrs was delayed by more than five hours. The passengers were accommodated in another aircraft, which was brought from Mumbai.
