NO BJP MLA in touch with Uma: Minister

Bhopal, July 27 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister and BJP chief whip Narottam Mishra today asserted that no party legislator was in touch with expelled BJP leader and Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti.

Mr Mishra made the claim while replying to queries by mediapersons regarding the issue being raised at the BJP Legislature Party meet that went on till late last night.

''The BJP Legislature Party meet, which took place in a friendly environment, lauded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's working style in one voice,'' he said, admitting that the legislators discussed some local problems but did not utter anything against the government's working style or policies.

Mr Mishra said during the meeting, Jabalpur (South) MLA Harendra Singh Babbu suggested providing similar amount to each assembly constituency for development works, while party state incharge Anant Kumar rejected expectations of a change of guard in the state leadership and asserted that the party stood by Mr Chouhan.

During the meeting, Mr Chouhan urged legislators not to make anything a prestige issue and cooperate in finding solution to problems together. He assured that similar development funds would be provided to each assembly constituency.

Mr Mishra said a two-day exercise session for legislators would be organised outside the state capital on July 26-27 for taking development works to people. Besides, the party would organise development camps and rallies for party workers before November.

A 'Vikas Parva' would be organised in November over development works done by the government and more than 50,000 workers would take part in the function. The date and venue of the programme would be announced later.
