Nitish calls on UP people to learn from Bihar
Allahabad, July 27: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today called on the people of Uttar Pradesh to learn from his state and discard both the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
Addressing a Jan Chetna rally organised by Vyastha Parivartan Morcha here, Mr Kumar said both the SP and BSP, on being elected, did not do anything for the development of the state and welfare of its people.
He said the situation in UP was alarming and added both the parties have failed the people.
Mr Kumar said the people in Bihar have finished the 12 years of misrule of Mr Lalu Prasad and said the state was now heading towards progress and there was peace and brotherhood among the people.
''The people of UP are fed up and want a change and said the recently formed Morcha of Janata Dal (U) and Apna Dal has given an alternative to the existing parties in the state. We have given an alternative to the people, now it is up to them to cash it,'' he added.
Janata Dal (U) President Sharad Yadav said whenever Congress party was ruling at the Centre, there had been steep price rise. He said the UPA government at the Centre has miserably failed to check price rise even. ''Even dal and roti is beyond the reach of poor people,'' he added.
Both the leaders condemned the recent series of bomb blasts in Mumbai, he said this was a cowardly act of terrorists, and added that if they had courage, they should come openly instead of targetting innocent people.
