MSP for Paddy, cotton raised by Rs 10 each
New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) The minimum support price (MSP) of common paddy and Grade A paddy for kharif season 2006-07 was today raised by Rs 10 each to Rs 580 and Rs 610, respectively.
The government also raised the MSP of cotton (medium staple length) and cotton (long staple length) by Rs 10 each to Rs 1770 and Rs 1990, respectively The MSP for niger seed was raised from Rs 1200 to Rs 1220, tur (arhar) from Rs 1400 to Rs 1410, bajra and ragi from Rs 525 to Rs 540, hybrid jowar from Rs 525 to Rs 540 and maldani jowar from Rs 525 to Rs 540, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi announced after the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs that took the decision.
