Manholes on Kanshi Vishwanath complex to be locked

Varanasi, July 27 (UNI) In view of possibility of terrorists using underground 'nullahs' as tunnel to strike at the highly sensitive Kanshi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex here, Uttar Pradesh Police today directed authorities concerned to lock all manholes in the complex.

ADG (security) R K Tiwari reviewed security arrangements at the complex and expressed satisfaction at the security net on the complex.

Mr Tiwari was accompanied by senior police officials, including SSP Ashutosh Pandey and ASP (Gyanwapi) Jugal Kishore.

The ADG, taking note of possibility of terrorists using underground 'nullahs', if any in the area, as tunnel to strike at the complex, sought from the Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN) officials details about such underground drainage system in and around the complex.

Mr Tiwari further directed concerned authorities to lock all man holes in and around the complex and ensure their cleaning was conducted only under proper police presence.
