Last rites of slain State Maoist chief Madhav performded

Hyderabad, Jul 27 (UNI)The last rites of one of the Maoist state Secretaries Madhav, who was killed in a police encounter in Nallamala forest area of Prakasaam district last week was performed at his native place Mangapeta in Karimnagar district.

A large number of sympathisers and Revolutionary Writers Association (VIRASAM) leaders attended the funeral.

Madhav along with seven others were killed in a police encounter in the dense Nallamala forest of Prakasam district on Sunday last.

The bodies of the Maoists were handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem was conducted yesterday.

VIRASAM leaders Balladeer Gaddar, Kalyana Rao, and Varavara Rao and relatives of slain leader were among those who attended the funeral. The funeral procession was led by Madhav's son Kartik (16).
