Israel confirms 8 soldiers killed in Lebanon

JERUSALEM, July 26 (Reuters) The Israeli army said eight of its soldiers were killed and 22 wounded in a Hizbollah ambush near the guerrilla stronghold of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon today.

Arabic media had reported that as many as 13 soldiers died in the clash. The Israeli army said this figure was incorrect.
