ISO 27001 certification for GSTU
Hyderabad, July 27: The Global Trade Services Unit (GTSU) of ICICI Bank, India's second largest bank, had been given ISO 27001 certification.
ICICI-GSTU was the first unit of any bank in India with this certification and globally around eight such certifications had been awarded to banks and financial institutions.
According to an ICICI bank release, ISO 27001 was the International Standard on Information Security Management System, which emphasizes on Risk Assessment (assets, vulnerability and threats), Disaster Recovery Prepardness and Measurement Tools of Controls.
ICICI bank GTSU was also the first unit of any bank in India to be certified with BS 7799, the British Standard of Information Security and Management system. The BS 7799 certification is no longer a differentiator and hence ISO 27001 is a benchmark on Information Security Management System.
