Indo-US civilian nuclear deal not in national interest-Advani

Bhubaneswar, July 27 (UNI) Former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today said the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal was not in the interest of the nation.

The BJP leader, who arrived here from Delhi to attend the party's functionary meeting in Puri, told newsmen at the airport that Parliament should give a direction to the government as such a deal was a very serious matter.

Parliament, the BJP leader said, should also ensure that the interest of the country is protected.

On the infiltration of the Lashkar-e-Toiba into the Indian Army, Mr Advani said such a serious matter should be dealt with strongly as it concerned the entire country.

The government, he said, should be watchful and take the matter very seriously.
