Free medicines for cattles in Bihar: Modi
Patna, July 27: In view of the poor financial condition of the cattle owners, the Bihar government has decided to provide free veterinary medicines for cattles.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who is also holding the portfolio of Animal Husbandry department, said here today that the decision was taken in view of the poor financial condition of the cattle owners.
He said under the new policy, the cattle owners would only pay rupee one as fee in the government veterinary hospital where as the price of medicines and veterinary vaccines would be exempted.
According to the policy, the cattle owners of general category would have to pay Rs 40 for having hybrid cattles through frozen semens technology while Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe cattle owners would pay just Rs 25 for the purpose.
