Forty injured in two road accidents in AP
Hyderabad, Jul 27 (UNI) Forty persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh early today.
According to police, 19 passengers were injured when a state-owned APSRTC bus carrying 52 persons plunged into a roadside canal near Pedaravuru village in Guntur district.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the bus, proceeding to Tenali from Chirala, tried to avoid hitting a three-wheeler.
Villagers rushed to the spot, broke the window panes and rescued the passengers, who were shifted to the government hospital in Tenali.
In another accident, 21 passengers were injured when a government-owned bus on its way here from Guntur fell into a gorge at a place in Nalgonda district.
The injured were rushed to the Nalgonda Government Hospital, police added.
