Every district in MP to have airstrip

Bhopal, July 27 (UNI) With a view to promoting tourism in Madhya Pradesh, airstrips would be laid in 15 districts with private sector participation.

Presently 23 have airstrips while construction of airstrips is underway in 10 districts, a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was informed here today, an official release said.

In Ujjain, private sector cooperation has been sought.

Stressing the need for earmarking tourism zones, Mr Chouhan added that the Maihar-Panna-Khajuraho-Orchcha and Udaigiri-Sanchi-Bhimbetka circuits could be developed.

The gathering discussed measures to enhance tourist facilities in wildlife areas, the release added.
