Estate labourer attacked by tiger

Madikeri, Karnataka, July 27 (UNI) An estate labourer was seriously injured when a tiger attacked him at Kutta in South Kodagu in Karnataka last evening.

Police said Mani (40) was attacked by the feline while he was working in the estate. However, the tiger left him as other labourers rushed to the spot on hearing his cries. He was admitted to a hospital.

The hilly district of Kodagu had been facing increased tiger menace this season. The big cat had claimed the lives of two buffaloes in the same area on July 25. Besides, a 60-year-old man and dozens of livestock have been killed by tigers during the last two months, plunging the residents into fear. ] UNI XR GD TS VA VV1300
