DC appointed for Jiribam sub-division

Imphal, Jul 27 (UNI) Manipur Cabinet met here last night, presided by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, and decided to appoint a Deputy Commissioner (DC) at Jiribam sub-division in Imphal East district.

Officials said Jiribam was in the Manipur Assam border, however, it was administratively put under Imphal East district. The people faced problems while coming all the way to Imphal for official purpose.

The Cabinet also decided to upgrade of SDO Thanlon sub-division, Churachanpur district to ADC with headquarters at Pheijol.

Considering the demands of the students to appoint more teachers it was decided to appoint 449 graduate and 1590 primary level teachers.

To improve the conditions of the three national highways in the state the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) will be roped in. Earlier, both the state PWD and the BRO were involved.

UNI NS BA AB 1248 IMP6 Weather-Manipur Heavy rainfall lashes Manipur Imphal, July 27 (UNI) : Manipur experienced heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours. Today morning also heavy rainfall took place. About 13 mm of rainfall was recorded during the past 24 hours and there was decline in the temperature due to the rainfall. The minimum temperature was around 22 degree Celcius while the maximum was around 26 degree Celcius.

During the past few days the maximum temperature was around 32 degree Celcius,MET officials said.
