Cummins India Q1 net up 43.6 pc at Rs 50.79 cr

New Delhi, July 27: Cummins India, designer and manufacturer of diesel engines, today posted a net profit of Rs 50.79 crore, for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006, up by 43.6 per cent, as compared to Rs 35.36 crore for the same quarter last year.

The company's total income increased by 18.5 per cent to Rs 407.70 crore for Q1 FY07 as against Rs 344.14 crore for Q1 FY06.

Cummins net profit after tax for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 stood at Rs 54.09 crore, higher by 16 per cent, compared to Rs 46.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

Company's key markets for engines, ranging from 55 to 3,500 horsepower, are onhighway vehicles, industrial equipment, and power generation.
