Congress leader shot dead in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur, Jul 27 (UNI) Former President of Bhagalpur district Congress Divesh Singh was shot dead in the town late last night.

According to police, some unidentified criminals fired at Mr Singh from point blank range when he was returning home on a two wheeler. The leader died on the spot.

The deceased, Mr Singh, is the younger brother of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation councillor Dinesh Singh. Mr Singh was in active politics since past 30 years.

The motive nehind the killing was yet to be ascertained.

Raids were on to nab the culprits.
