Chinese acrobats to perform at Pune Festival

Pune, July 27 (UNI) A spectacular 120-minute show with 45 male and female acrobats of the China National Troupe will perform at the Pune Festival on September 2 here to promote Beijing Olympics and friendship between the two countries.

Beijing Federation Literary and Art Circles Deputy Secretary, Suo Qian told reporters the particpation from the Chinese troupe in the Pune Festival between September 1-5, will contribute greatly towards good relations between the two countries.

The Vice Chairperson of Pune festival Sabina Sanghvi said, ''We have invited Chinese artists to promote friendly relations and cultural exchange between India and China. This is the first time that Pune festival will be showcasing a programme with international participation. The Chinese artists have won many international awards and the performances include traditional programmes like Kungfu, music, dance and drama. The show will be staged first in Mumbai, followed by Pune and finally at Delhi.
