Chief Justice calls for creating awarness about legal rights

Bangalore, Jul 27(UNI) Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Cyriec Joseph today urged the State Government to, as social responsibility, take all measures to create awareness among public about legal rights.

Speaking after launching 'Kanoonu Varthe' (Legal News Bulletin), first of its kind in the country, by the Bangalore Doordarshan Kendra here, he said that by telecasting such an innovative legal awareness programme the Doordarshan is rendering a great help to the judiciary in spreading legal knowledge among the public.

Justice Cyriec, congratulating the Doordarshan Kendra, expressed confidence that the people would benefit immensely from the innovative programme and he also assured all cooperation in Doordarshan's endevour in creating legal awareness.

Minister for Home M P Prakash, in his address, openioned that the programme would benefit immensely the common people in gaining legal knowledge.
