Chhattisgarh assembly adopts supplementary demands
Raipur, July 27 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha today adopted by voice vote the first supplementary demands to the tune of Rs 642.08 crore for the current financial year.
Replying to the debate, Finance Minister Amar Agrawal said Rs 439.13 crore has been earmarked for planned expenditure, while remaining Rs 202.95 would be for unplanned expenditure.
With the inclusion of first supplementary demands, the state's budget has increased to Rs 12951.88, he noted.
Stating that Rs 22.24 crore had been earmarked for strengthening financial position of district cooperative banks at Bilaspur and Jagdalpur, he said these banks would make loans available to nearly seven lakh farmers at seven per cent interest rate.
Mr Agrawal said a provision had been made to enhance irrigation facilities for the benefit of small and medium farmers.
