Centre grants Rs 60.52 crore for betterment of NH-31

Kolkata, Jul 27 (UNI) The Centre has granted Rs 60.52 crore for realignment of National Highway-31 from Falakata to Pundibari in Cooch Behar in North Bengal.

The project comprised the construction of a major bridge across the Torsa, construction of a 22.89-km-long road, including approaches to the Torsa bridge and construction of seven minor bridges by the West Bengal Government, official sources here today said.

Incidentally, the project remained suspended for long due to faulty tender processes and subsequent legal battle with some of the implenting agencies, the sources added.
