Bhattal gets Power, Irrigation, Industry goes to Henry

Chandigarh, July 27 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet was today reshuffled and important portfolios of Irrigation and Power were given to Deputy Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Industries and Commerce to Avtar Henry.

Ms Bhattal, who was deprived of the Department of Technical Education, would continue with the portfolios of Medical Education and Research and Higher Education and Languages, besides Power and Irrigation, according to a notification issued here.

Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Lal Singh, earlier holding Irrigation and Power, has been given the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, relieving his colleague Avtar Henry of the latter charge. The other new departments alloted to Mr Lal Singh include Jails and Civil Aviation.

Mr Henry would now look after Industries and Commerce, earlier lying with Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
