BCCI to conduct exam for aspiring umpires
New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) In order to induct fresh blood in the BCCI Panel of Umpires, the board has decided to conduct a special examination for the cricketers and non-cricketers interested in taking up the job.
The candidates who were less than the age of 40 years as on June 1, 2006 would be eligible and to qualify under the Cricketers' category, a candidate should have played 25 first class matches, BCCI hony jt secretary M P Pandove said in a statement.
Rest of the players, umpires on state panels were eligible to appear in the Non-Cricketers' category, he added.
The examination for the Non-Cricketers' Category would be held on August 20 at 1500 hrs at Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds in the Capital.
